On July 8, 2017 to be precise the most developed areas of Lagos State, Ikoyi, Lekki and Victoria Island axis suffered an unprecedented flooding which ultimately caused power outage in the Area.
According to reports, electricity injection substations and equipment were engulfed by water. Today, however Godwin Idemudia of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) confirmed that electricity has been restored in the affected areas.
He urged residents of the affected areas to safety concern and avoid touching electricity appliances with wet hands saying "Residents should be careful not to touch our equipment and poles during floods. Whenever you noticed our poles are on the ground, the first thing you should do is to stay away and call the attention of nearest EKEDC station to it".
