Gibson, 32, was pulled over by the police after he made illegal U-turn.
An Officer did a computer check and discovered Gibson's Illinois license was suspended. The NBA star forward was charged with aggravated unlicensed operator.
He has been released from police custody, but will return to court on September 1st, 2017.
